Below is a list of some of the most common tests available in the Clinic as part of Grande’s Health & Wellness program. The test(s) the Nurse Practitioner conducts will depend on the symptoms or concerns presented by the patient.
Basic Metabolic Panel (BMP): This blood test is used to evaluate a person’s kidney function and electrolyte balance, as well as their blood glucose level.
Complete Blood Count (CBC) with autodifferential: This blood test provides information about the red and white blood cells in the body. This helps to check for things such asinfection or anemia (decreased amount of red cells).
Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP): This test is the same as the BMP, with the addition of testing for liver function and protein levels.
Hemoglobin A1C: This blood test shows the person’s average blood sugar for the last 3 months. Lipid Panel: This blood test measures the lipids, or fats, in the body. It gives us values for total cholesterol, LDL (bad cholesterol), HDL (good cholesterol), and triglycerides.
Lipid Panel: This blood test can measure the amount of cholesterol and triglycerides in your blood.
Mono Spot Test: This blood test is done in the clinic to diagnosis infectious mononucleosis, a viral illness.
Pregnancy Test: This is a urine test done in the clinic to test for the HCG hormone, which would indicate pregnancy.
Rapid Step A Culture: This test is performed in the clinic by swabbing the back of the throat to test for Strep throat infection.
Pap with Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) Co-testing: The Pap is a test used to check women for abnormalities with the cervix, such as cancer. HPV is checked with this test as it is a common cause of cervical cancer.
Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA): This is a blood test done for men to look for prostate abnormalities.
Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) testing
- Herpes Simplex Virus Culture (HSV)
- Gonorrhea, Neiseria (GC), by SDA
- Chlamydia Trachomatis, by SDA
- Trichomonas
Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH): This blood test checks the function of the thyroid gland.
T4: This testing is used to evaluate the condition of the thyroid.
Urine Microscope: This urine test is done in the clinic to check primarily for infection but may also detect other medical conditions.
Urine Dipstick: This tests for any present infection or abnormal proteins, glucose, etc.
Urine Culture: If there is enough bacteria found in a dipstick test the urine culture is evaluated to see what type of bacteria is present and what antibiotics will help treat it.
Vaginal Infection, DNA Probe: This is testing done for gynecologic concerns, such as yeast infections.
Any test not on the list above will be billed to the patient’s insurance. Pap rescreens/professional screens will be billed to patients’ insurance by FDL Pathology.
